Venue

The Conference will be held at the main campus of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), located in Ilidža, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

About

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nestled within the greater Sarajevo Valley, it is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and situated along the Miljacka River. Known for its rich cultural history, religious diversity, and unique architectural blend of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influences, Sarajevo is often referred to as the "Jerusalem of Europe". The city has a well-developed public transportation network, including trams, trolleybuses, and buses, making it relatively easy to navigate.

By Plane

The most practical and time-efficient way to reach Sarajevo is by air. Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) is well connected to major European cities and regional hubs. Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, AJet, and SunExpress operate direct flights between Istanbul and Sarajevo. The flight duration is approximately 1.5–2 hours (from Türkiye), depending on the route and operating conditions. Other airlines also provide regular connections to cities such as Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Zagreb, and Belgrade.

Alternatively, participants may consider arriving at nearby regional airports, taking into account the additional ground transfer time:

• Tuzla International Airport (BiH): An alternative regional airport located approximately 2.5–3 hours from Sarajevo by road.
• Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (Serbia): Sarajevo can be reached by bus in approximately 5–6 hours, although border-crossing delays may affect the journey time.
• Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (Croatia): Sarajevo can be reached by bus in approximately 6–7 hours, depending on traffic and border-crossing conditions.

By Train

Sarajevo has limited international railway connections. A seasonal international passenger train connects Sarajevo with Ploče, Croatia, operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the summer season. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. Direct passenger services between Sarajevo and Zagreb are currently suspended.

Domestic railway services also connect Sarajevo with destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, although schedules and services may be subject to operational changes.

By Bus

Sarajevo is well connected by bus to cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Balkan region. Regular international bus services connect Sarajevo with major regional cities such as Belgrade, Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik. Bus travel offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains, although journey times can be affected by winding roads, traffic, and delays at international border crossings.
